I really haven't noticed. Now again I don't have a ton of games under my belt yet, and I haven't monkeyed with sliders.
At this point I just drop back, try to see what coverage they are in and then throw to where I think the weakness is. Now sometimes I have the wrong play called for the defense they called, and I either check down or have to waste a down and throw the ball away, or I just take a shot at what I think the best matchup is. Results so for for me have been pretty good.
Last night I was 12/16 for 200 yards and 2 TD's. I had the exact right play called for the defense I was facing on 3 occasions. 2 of them resulted on long gains (hence the high YPA) and one my QB overthrew the WR...
The game before BC played a ton of soft zone and 7 man fronts. So I ran the ball down their throats and dinked and dunked them to death.
Again just my experience, and I haven't played a ton of games yet.
If something squirly happens like you are describing and it's not to frequent I just chalk it up to a player making a great play and move on. I play this for fun, so I am not breaking down every play. Now if that stuff happens a lot to me, then that's another story.
