CPU DEs don't use their moves/disengage enough off the edge(Vid Inside)

They got it setup backwards......This has been driving me nuts as I attempt to hone in on my slider set for the year

All the DTs in this game play like Nick Fairly pretty much, and the DEs/OLbs are pretty useless when the Qbs sit in the Pocket

In the Vid...I set the sliders to a bunch of different levels but it makes no difference in how much the DEs/OLbs use their moves.....they run into the tackles and play a long drawn out animation....

PB vs Pass Rush

0 vs 100
0 vs 0
50 vs 50

^^and a few more for example....

This needs to be patched/Tuned whatever.....but its *** backwards right now.....

The DEs/OLbs are the ones who should be disengaging quickly and taking a direct route to the QB

The DTs should be given an animation to push the OL back into the QB but they should disengage much much less than their DE/OLB brethren

Quote:
****Give the Interior DTs and 3-4 DEs more of a Power Push animation and less of the completely coming free variety......Have em push the OL right back into the QB****

And let the ratings of the DL vs OL, like strength, determine the speed of the push
Note: In most cases the OL should always be getting pushed back a little

Heres an example:

Now the 4-3 DEs/3-4 OLBs need to shoot off the ball and get up the field fast taking away that immediate roll out out that so many people like to do in these games

Is this not driving anyone else insane????

Has anyone found a way to make the pass rush harder the right way????

I do not recall this being as big a problem in NCAA/Madden last year

Have you messed around with shed block for the DT? I think the same thing about the CPU as you do.

No, I was trying to avoid going that route(Ratings) as that would be a huge task to re-rate entire DLs to play correctly

User Players have no trouble using and bringing out the pass rush moves against the cpu with the right stick

I have a blast with WVUs Bruce Irvin....but its just sad when I switch to the opposite team and watch him become a Ghost........

Im not sure what the problem is though....

is it more along the lines of code not being there that would need to tell them to use their pass rushing........

or is it just a simple Tuning setting or something that wouldn't require a patch??

I would hope its the latter and its just like a switch they have to turn on

Re: CPU DEs don't use their moves/disengage enough off the edge(Vid Inside)

To me it appears to be suction. And their pass rush route seems to be hard coded in in a pre-determined path. I seen it many times, even when the DE is much faster and actually ran past the OT, he will turn around and engage the OT for no reason.

Plus DEs always rush to the outside in the same pattern. They never do a rip to the inside of the OT. Even with block shedding at 99, FMV at 99, strength at 99, speed at 99 and acceleration at 99 and PMV at 99, a CPU controlled DE has a very hard time getting passed an OT on passing plays.

Makes no sense. A defensive lineman should be able to push an offensive lineman back on passing plays, but it NEVER happens. The only time you see anybody get pushed backwards is on running plays.
