The Anatomy of a Players Overall Rating

I have seen some clamoring on the board (and in personal emails) wondering what all is factored into a players overall rating and which attributes are most important to each position.

To understand the data you are looking at, the most important attribute for each position is a 10. If the position has multiple 10's they are considered equally important and a weighed evenly with the other attribute with a 10.

All attributes are scaled evenly so when looking at a QB you will notice that THA is a 10, so it is the most important attribute for a QB. But if you look deeper you will notice the accumulative parts of AWR, SPD, BTK, AGL, ACC, INJ, TRK and ELV are actually more important weighing in at a total of 10.5

Also to clarify what each is for.....
40: is the speed rating
BNCH: is the str rating
SQT-S: is tackle for defense and break tackle for offense, this is skill players.
SQT-L: is tackle for defense and run block for offense, this is lineman and linebackers.

Re: The Anatomy of a Players Overall Rating

I feel like the game undervalues pursuit and play recognition for defenders and overvalues... what else? speed. A lot of players can fly, but they never make any plays because they react too late or overrun the play too often.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

This why I look my players over and the one with the best OVR doesn't always get the starting job.
