Problems running the option.

Options dont really work,
Avoid using them and just use other plays.

No option that i have tried are succesful.
When you would run power options last year they were decent because you would get blockers out in front of you but this year the QB take too long to get up to speed and pitching the ball isnt that smooth.

Just out of curiosity (and b/c it's your avatar) Mudtiger, how come you don't use Air Force?

I agree that the option can be mighty successful if you make the correct reads. Using Air Force against Oregon, I ran for over 200 yards, including a nice 67-yard run on a QB keeper.

It definitely takes practice and is harder than the PS2 versions, where you really didn't have to read the defense all that much and could just break for the sideline and then throw that last-second pitch to the HB to gain more yards.

I haven't tried GT or Navy yet, but with Air Force (above) and Army, I quite enjoyed the option.

The only option I like is triple option inside the red zone cause it works almost every time. The only other running play I usally do is HB Toss and rarley Iso which is awsome in RTG.

Options aren't money plays like they were in NCAA 06-10. It's actually tougher to run this year but, it can be successful if you read the defense correctly. You know the old saying "practice makes perfect". So, hit the practice field and run a couple hundred then, get back to me.

I created a option heavy custom playbook for my TB school. I run around 40 times a game and pass 5-10. I know from experience that running the triple, read, speed, and power options all work in NCAA 12. I would recommend the following slider adjustments:

*On AA difficulty bump user run block up to 70-75. Your line and FBs miss too many assignments unless they are at least 70.

*Put CPU run D at 85-95, depending on how difficult you want it to be.
