Considering Woodson is the only primarily defensive player ever to win the award, I'd say it is pretty realistic. Nearly all winners are QB's and RB's and then there is the rare WR and TE. Actually, I think all but 5 winners have played QB and RB, and I'm pretty sure there has been some great defensive play in the 70+ years of the award.
