Re: Important: L2/LT Button

Tried it in a couple of actual games......

I only see it on certain routes - post, verticals, fade

Don't see it on come back, slants, hooks or curls

But for some reason it does make WRs with good hands and awareness be more aggressive going after the ball. I see them dive more for passes out of reach, even dive for tipped passes.

Throwing animation seems to be the same and take the same amount of time. Haven't seen any new animations from it.

But it does seem to make the ball drop in a more sharper angle. To the point you can hit a WR in stride without him slowing down or stopping.

Re: Important: L2/LT Button

im not getting a good feel for this in practice mode so I am going to play a play now game.

I am still trying to figure out when I should use it and when I shouldn't.

But, after playing in practice mode, whether it was completed or not, there did seem to be a difference in the pass itself....so odd, very interesting find...

Yes, Do not use it on Slants, curls, Comebacks and a certain other type of throws. There is still a need for just a bullet pass. But those 3, and a couple of others, require more power and timing.

Look at it like this. Accuracy is your left stick. Power is how hard/long you press the button. Finesse is L2/LT. (I'll add this to OP)

What about out routes and in-routes?

Yay or Nay for the L2?

Re: Important: L2/LT Button

So basically the point of using it is to get it over a defenders head, correct?

Will definitely be testing this out, hopefully tomorrow. If it's true, I'm putting Magic up for the Sports Video Game Nobel Prize

Re: Important: L2/LT Button

So I load up a play now game to use both offenses on to test this. First play I run five wide with a post to my inside man and try it, it definitely had a much different trajectory on the ball than I have seen before, and herbstreit even said something like "surprised he caught it the ball was lobbed so high." Neverheard that line before, ever

In routes......nay....ball hangs in the air too long and gets batted down more often then not.

Out routes, yay....it adds a floatness to it.
