Across Cover 4, shift safeties middle, user the FS and cover the middle. Depending on the opposing QB you could put the spy into a hook zone as well

I'm having he'll of a time stopping 4 wide, no problems in NCAA 11 but getting smashed in 12. What playbook and best formations to stop 4 wide.?

If there is no running threat at QB, run straight Dime or Quarters man to man, mix in some zone if you are playing a human. If there is a running threat at QB, do the same thing but either double contain at end or blitz a corner from one side and slant the line with the blitz. So if the corner comes from the right, slant the line to the left.

Not often. The most important attributes for pass rushers is their ability to get off blocks (BSH) and the Power and Finesse moves, it isn't likely the speed your LB's have will offset their lack of Power Finesse moves. If you happen to have a beast at LB who has speed and good BSH/FMV/PMV ratings, definitely put him in there in Dime or Quarters.
