Re: Tight End?

Yeah.

When I was the HC of the Bobcats my TE would always lead my team in yards and touch downs.

Had no problems with it. He was the only one who was consistently open and caught everything.

Re: Tight End?

Hopefully in my next seaon my Outside WR's will be more useful. Recruited two guys at 6'4 and 6'5 that should help hopefully one is a JuCo JR coming in but will fill the gap of seniors without the huge ratings drop.

A great example is going off of what EA said TE #86 of Houston; Brandon Hartson, ratings should be. He came out of the box with 93 SPD 82 AGI and 90 ACC. Those ratings right there are what some of the top WRs in the game don't even have. Sure, he is a 64 overall, but who in the right mind would not throw to this guy when he is constantly covered by a LB or S? What makes it worse, he is listed on NFL Draft Scout as a long snapper, not even a TE!
Players ratings fail. Thanks for bringing this up.

It feels wrong to me but when he is the only one getting open no matter the route he runs what else am I supposed to do?
I haven't had that "issue" (if you want to call it that). I run a run-first spread option attack and here are my receiving totals for my 1st 2 seasons:

Haha the first part made me laugh... "thats what she said" ... gotta love the office... well when michael scott was on there.

My tight end is usually top two in yards but that's the style I play.

Tell you what having those great receiving TE's are an awesome bonus. In my canes dynasty (where I'm not caring about the tendency roster issues and modifying someratings across the board) I just got 2 of the top 5 TE's with receiving tendency and they're becoming my top targets as they're the best pass catchers on the roster with the top 3 wideouts leaving. My passing game is that much more entertaining/exciting with them.

Re: Tight End?

Curls, Outs, Slants, Post, streaks, and crossing routes are really what you get from outside guys, If you going deep all day the % is going to be low. The curls and hitches are really good routes for the outside guys. Also the "in" route you can eat up a zone with it. The "out" if the CB is playing off is an excellent route, 3 step and a hard throw should be completed if you have an accurate QB.

Another good one is the corner route off of playaction it usually out the big ace package with the TE running a delay route just need the time for it to develop and have to know where to place the ball. But it definitely ways to get the outside WR's catches. But having that TE like the tread starter is talking about is a huge plus in the passing game. Also having the slot is a plus just look how popular Wes Welker is now a days.
