Highest 1 star rated freshman?

What is the highest rated 1 star recruit you've recruited? I usually don't bother with them because they are about as good as a walk-on (or so I thought). Since you now get bonus points for recruiting to fill all of your team needs in dynasty mode, I needed to get a fullback. All of the fullbacks in the country were 1 star that year. Once I got the commitment and went into the off-season, I realized he was rated an overall of 69! I've never seen a one star recruit have such a high rating!

Anybody else get a "sick" 1 star recruit?

That's pretty common for FB's K's and P's. They are typically lower rated star wise with higher attributes

65 rated HB from Canada, I don't usually recruit 1 star players but he ran a 4.26 40 and he was white, so I thought I might as well get the only white HB in the recruiting class.

I can't remember about 1 star true freshmen but when you're a lower to mid level program (and haven't spent enough seasons to beef up your ratings/prestige) it's nice to go after the one or two star JUCOs that are coming in as juniors. They're pretty good for filling holes and depth issues quickly and I've seen more than a fair share of one star JUCOs come in at ratings better than four star recruits.

I noticed a one star Soph JUCO QB who had a B- rating for accuracy. I decided to roll the dice and recruit the kid. He came in rated a 74 OVR and ended up an 89 OVR his SR year.

I just signed a Soph JUCO FB who was a 1-star and turned out to be 79. He's a bulldozer. Sort of slowish and not much in the skill dept., but a strong blocker going downhill.

JUCO players are usually more developed and therefore higher OVRs, but the thread is titled "Highest 1 star rated freshman".

Good stuff. Now I see the value of looking deeper into these player's skill set rather than recruit solely based on star rating.
