Who do you usually control on D?

DL, and you won't get thrown to the ground all the time if you practice the timing with the sticks. Willing to bet that 90% of the time you get knocked down, you are trying to swim by the offensive lineman before you're ever engaged.

I normally control the DT or OLB. If I like to get beat deep, I controll the DBs...

Depends on the play. I usually play DE, but if I have a blitzing linebacker, I'll play as him. I like to run toward the line to get a good jump on the snap, and if there's no way I'm getting to the QB, I pull off and drop into coverage. I've found that the CPU is almost at a total loss if you do something different than the play art (meaning, take a blitzing LB according to the play and control him back into pass coverage, or take a LB assigned to a zone and blitz him instead).

Sometimes I'll play as a safety if they are loading one side of the field and feel my idiot teammates aren't going to get the job done.

U 2??? I can kinda control the CBs, but I only hurt myself playing as a safety against the pass...

How right you are. Although I wouldn't say 90%, more like 80%, cuz sometimes I will be engaged and wait to use the swim move and then the DL and OL start "wrestling" (i think u know what I mean but i don't know the proper term) and then I move the stick the wrong way and up on the ground.

For those of you that use a dlineman, how do you use him? Do you press and hold R2 at the snap so he comes off quick, then when he's engaged you use your special move? Do you use special move at the point of snap? Do you not use R2 at the snap for run?
