This engine has been in existence since 2003.

I believe they did. I believe EA wanted to completely revamp the whole entire engine for the new systems. I also honestly believed it would work out, but it ultimately didn't due to serious bugs and lack of quality gameplay mechanics. Ever since NCAA has been on next gen consoles, it's been all about graphics and presentation, which is good and all, but nothing compares to great gameplay!

Overall, aside from the natural graphics upgrade, the next gen versions have been a lot worse than the previous gen versions. For three years I bought 360 Madden and traded it in and picked up the PS2 version instead. Then I wised up and just stopped buying the series altogether.

It'd be fun to go through every year and list out what features each edition included.

Re: Question about things removed over the years

Ive just never bought into the whole last gen/next gen thing when it comes to features that differed between the two. Simple fact of the matter is they were all marketed, and sold under the same name, and never advertised as or discalimered (that I saw), that they really were essentially different games. Further, its kinda backwards that the old gen games, with less horsepower to play with had far more, and superior game features then the next gen's, which cost more money do. Here we are years later, and the next gen has still not caught up. No excuse for that.

Dump the following to free up disk space.....

- Entrances
- Announcers (most turn them off anyways, get ride of the sound files)
- Opening video montage

If you want any of this, just watch CBS, NBC, ABC, or ESPN on Thursdays and Saturdays.
