Installing game issue

I'm trying to install NCAA 12 to my HD, but around half way through it pops up and says the disc is unreadable...I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem or has heard of it.

I can play the game off the disc just fine...

There must be a scratch on some part of the disc that contains some option that you don't use. I had a scratch on my disc right where something pertaining to the actual game is located. Any game mode, didn't matter, if I tried to play a game, I got the DRE and kicked off. I had to borrow a friend's copy, install it, and then use my copy in the machine to "authenticate" it.
