After purchasing, do you get to pick what game to use it or do you have to use it the week you purchase it?

I believe it says that it is used for the next game you play.

It's for the game that week. So you have to buy them before you play your game that week for them to take affect. You can't buy one after your game in Week 3 and expect it to carry over to your game in Week 4 just because you didn't use it.
