Sprint Button kills your running lanes

It seems to me that whenever I run through a hole, I get much better yardage if I never touch the sprint button. As soon as I press it, even if it should apply to "explode" through the hole, it's like an alarm to all close-by defenders and they all break off their blocks and tackle me immediately.

It really seems like defender's awareness is much lower before I press sprint as compared to when I hold it down.

Anyone else notice this?

I definitely notice this. It's much easier to hit holes if you never touch the sprint.

I was having a lot of trouble trying to get realistic running. Try this slider set, the best I have used so far and it's not even close.

its been like that for years, when u hit sprint they release their blocks. thats why they have the auto-sprtint button now

Thank you! I did not know that. I'm a NCAA rookie and was getting frustrated as all get-out with the D line breaking blocks and sacking my HB behind the line. I'll have to teach myself to keep my finger off the sprint button until I'm pass the LoS.

Instead of goin cold turkey...occupy your finger with the cover ball button. My newest thing in to press the right stick until I see an opportunity to explode.

Re: Sprint Button kills your running lanes

I'm actually coming out with a series of Youtube NCAA running and passing tutorials. In the running tutorials I talk about this very issue and how it affects the AI. Using LB to cover the ball is always the best, also instead of using the juke, just change direction with the left analog stick, you will be surprised how effective it is against the AI and it doesnt slow down your momentum like the juke does. Stay tuned for the vids.
