Re: How many years do you guys usually play in your dynasty

Went 4 years into a dynasty to take the HC job at Mizzou only to have the game take a crap on me and not let me play the 1st game as the HC at Mizzou so started over Currently on my 2nd year of a new dynasty. Started off as Akrons headcoach then went on the Tulane (actually the job I wanted but didn't want to start off there). Moved them to the SEC and now hoping to get in over 20 years.

Re: How many years do you guys usually play in your dynasty

I am in year 4 of my current Miami Hurricanes dynasty as a HC. I was renewed for a 4 years extension after my initial 3 year contract. I have yet to sniff a BCS bowl game and it has been a struggle.

I will play out my contract and see what I will do at that point. I may catch on with a smaller team....or if I can turn this program around and bring home a national title again I may seek another job at the end of my contract at another big time program.

Me and a buddy did a 3 year dynasty on ncaa 09 (ps2)... The first year i was missouri he was michigan state... We both went undefeated i beat him in the NC then he went to texas i went to oklahoma in year 2 .... I beat him during the year and beat texas tech in the big 12 championship and played texas (my buddy) in the NC and he beat me on a last second hail marry... Then year 3 i went to WVU & he stayed at texas & my team's roster was bad so i made a e-z schedule and went undefeated and so did he and i won the rose bowl and he won the NC

Re: How many years do you guys usually play in your dynasty

I have never played a dynasty online, but would be interested in trying! My longest tenure was in NCAA 09 with Mississippi State. I spent 11 years with the dawgs and took them to back-to -back National titles starting my 5th year. I made a third straight title appearance and lost in double overtime in a shootout with Oklahoma. I had two Heisman Trophy winning tailbacks, took 3 SEC titles and was 4 of 6 in bowl games. I think the best part was having 3 #1 overall picks in the Madden 09 NFL draft and 4 others picked in the first three rounds. If you dont have Madden to go along with NCAA, I HIGHLY recommend it! It keeps the Dynasty sooo much more interesting, like another goal!
Currently, im in my first year of my dynasty with Hawaii and NCAA 11 for PS2. If anyone is interested, you can follow our progress at http://www.operationsports.com/forum...sty-users.html

I'm in year 8 of mine, but did something different. This season I started editing teams other than the one I'm coaching. For example, on Hawaii's team, I gave most of the players from Hawaii Hawaiin names, and tried to make them look polynesian. I'd edit the weight of some of the players that were lacking (ex. 6'6" 230 DE to 6'6" 250 DE), the ratings (ex. 5'11" 167 power back to 5'11" 167 speed back), the appearences, use more of the faces than what's usually generated by the CPU (makes the rosters look more diverse), and change up the equipment. For the Florida teams (especially USF, FIU, and Miam), I'd give some of the players Haitian names, or Cuban names, Puerto Rican names, etc...

I used a couple things to get most of the names I use.

1. Recruiting website databases ( ex. Rivals, ESPN, Scout, 247, etc...)
I could go to any team I'm editing and see the commits they had from back to 2002 (with Rivals and Scout). Helps me stay fresh and creative with names since I have such a large pool to work with (don't want to end up with a lot of the players having the same or similar names).

2. College Football Rosters (Div 1 & 2)

3. NFL.com database

Another thing I did was search for a bunch of different ethnic names (Whether it be, Polynesian, African, European, Spanish, Carribean, Asian, Creole, Ghetto, you name it). EA/Tiburon is really lacking in this department, and I wish they'd step their game up to atleast what 2k did with CHOOPS2k8 (goat college game if you didn't know).

I've done this for 30+ teams so far, and it's really made stick to this Dynasty. I'm really engaged with it. Only draw-back, extremely time consuming (It's been about 3 weeks, and I still haven't finished this season, a lot of that has to do with me watching CPU vs CPU and taking pics). But the reward I get out of it, best dynasty experience I've had since I first started playing NCAA (04). Everything in the dynasty matters, makes you feel like you know all the players. It makes the news section interesting (from scores, to injuries, Heisman race, awards, AA's, etc...).

If anybody has a lot of time, or is patient with their Offline Dynasty, this is where it's at. Without this, I would've sold this game a while back.

Dang and I thought my off-season took too long editing a few uniforms and formation and depth charts.
