Playing Superstar Mode - My coach does not challenge obvious fumble?

Edit: I mean Road to Glory.

So here I am playing as a HB... we're driving down field, at our opponent's 10yd line. My HB fumbles, but it's so obvious that my knees are down that even my grandmother with poor eyesight would throw a challenge flag.

The game brings me to the sim screen. I think, "Okay... maybe the coach will challenge it at the start of the next play?" I "watch the play," thinking this might help the coach call the challenge. It did not - the opp ran the play, end of story. My team also had all its timeouts.

So what gives? Anyone else had any idiotic coaches not throwing flags for their superstars?
