Why does EA push for such an early release date? Just wondering why not spend more time on the game. The College season doesn't start until late August, so why not release the game in the first week or so in August.
If you told me 2 or three weeks could get a few things added, I'd be happy to wait.

i think it had to do with the release dates of the other EA sports franchises, mainly Madden, and wanting each game to have a window to itself.

Pretty much. They already adjusted the Madden release in order to give NCAA more time to breathe. Pushing NCAA into Madden's window would be counterproductive.

What the guys above me said. Plus, I want to play the game in the summer before the season!! There is NOTHING going on in terms of sports in the summer(except baseball which doesn't interest me too much).

Yeah, NCAA gets a bunch of sales from Madden junkies who want to see a "preview" of what Madden will add. Since Madden normally gets things a year or two before NCAA, I don't see why they do it but I don't think the NCAA sales numbers aren't mad at 'em

.

Plus, it gives the game its fair share of the spotlight without losing/taking any from Big Brother Madden.

You'd only get that benefit once though. The second year the game releases in August you're right back to a one-year cycle, only now it's August-August instead of July-July.

I wish they would do the game in June, just my opinion though.
