Re: Predict your team/player's ratings for NCAA '13

Well, I take that back. Apparently ESPN has the rankings like this already.

1. USC
2. LSU
3. Alabama
4. Oregon
5. Oklahoma
6. Georgia
7. Florida St.
8. South Carolina
9. Arkansas
10. Michigan

here
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7871848/

I thought USC was going to be good, but I guess I just didn't think people would rate them at #1 with how thin they are for depth. If those rankings you posted are correct for NCAA13, guess Barkleys going to be rated a 98/99. Prep the hype train.

Not really sure what there is to hype about the kid. He's good, extremely good. Would have been a top 5 pick if he had came out this year.

But then again, the way the ratings break down, if you make a QB with any kind of speed, he is typically rated 3-5 points higher on his overall than he should be.

I'd go more along the lines of 92 speed, 97 acceleration, and 97 agility. Travon is more of a quick player than straight line track speed. Is Travon as fast as Chris Rainey? If he is, (I would disagree) that would put him as a 4.45 guy.

That's the problem with the spread systems when it comes to rating players for NCAA. They desperately need to make the switch like Madden did to the three different accuracy ratings; short, medium, and long. This would allow QB's accuracy ratings to be rated properly.

Many spread QB's have crazy high completion percentages because they are throwing bubble and tunnel screens all game long, so people think they're extremely accurate passes by going off their stats. Look at Tebow's completion percentage in college (66.4%) compare to the NFL (47.3%) where he can't throw bubble screens to inflate his percentage.

I will use this argument towards two different players, Matt Barkley and Darron Thomas. Last year Barkley completed 69.1% of his passes running a pro-style system, and was really sought after because of his accuracy and average NFL arm. Thomas on the other hand completed 62.2% of his passes but was not looked at by the NFL because of his accuracy issues which were covered up again by the dink and dunk spread system Oregon utilizes.

You must not watch much Ole Miss Football yes we had a bad year and are rebuilding but we have a few guys that are very talented.

P Tyler Campbell has lead nation in punting avg in 2012 and in 2011 was in the top 3. The strongest leg in the nation probably. 97 OVR

K Bryson Rose was one shy of setting an SEC record for most consecutive made FG 91 OVR

FS Charles Sawyer - He made all of the plays on a very bad defense, leading our team in tackles aswell as leading the SEC in interceptions until the final week. I got him as a 91 OVR, He is definitely one of the better Safeties in the SEC.

RB Jeff Scott has had some really good games at RB and on KR. I agree on the speed but I have him at a 86-87 OVR

WR Donte Moncrief has a Freshman AA season last year and looks poised to be ALL-SEC. All the physical tools in the world and great hands 87 OVR.

Other notables
CB Nick Brassell 86 OVR
WR JaM-es Logan 85 OVR
LG Aaron Morris 85 OVR
RG AJ Hawkins 85 OVR
DE CJ Johnson 85 OVR
TE Jamal Mosley 85 OVR
TE Ferbia Allen 84 OVR
QB Bo Wallace 80 OVR
QB Barry Brunetti 80 OVR
DE Channing Ward 80 OVR
