EA can we please get smart CPU AI with tendencies out of the box this year please

I'm hoping this is the year that EA delivers a game where the CPU Players have a brain of their own and are able to do things on the field like a human player in action.

I want to see smart QB reads, scrambles by mobile QB's, throw away passes to avoid sacks, juke moves by elusive RB's, power running by power backs and run after the catch ability by playmaking WR's.

I went back and looked at some NCAA Videos of created players from my Historic rosters over the years (NCAA-09, 10, 11 and 12) and for once I'd like a CPU AI that can function on their own out of the box.

Check out some of the old clips all CPU AI Players doing their own work on the field.

Keep in mind NCAA 10 was a bad game for videos because the action moved like it was on crack......

Correct implementation of these new pass trajectories and the read & react defense just may go a long way in satisfying your hopes Playmaker. These will force the CPU to play a more complex and individualized game (fingers crossed!).

Though I'm somewhat clueless on the tendencies for some of the athletes you featured (too young to remember), the videos were still a treat!

It would be nice for ONCE. We shall see if they deliver on what they said this year. Last year they said it was over 400 new catches.......This year they once again claiming it is over 400 new catches. Last year they claimed 100s of new tackle animations.

Remember this video last May part of their game play blog for NCAA 12 ?

I didn't see the CPU do ANY of that in NCAA 12.

I seen only 6 or 7 tackle animations in NCAA 12. Only seen 4 catch animations in NCAA 12 as well.

I do not recall them touting over 400 new catch animations last year. The rest was true though.

That's a good video for HYPE by EA.....LOL!

I remember in NCAA 08 the WR's CPU AI would be the sickest SPC catches in any version of the game.

That game was horrible but the CPU WR's did some amazing things on their own.

It's really mind boggling because the SPC Catch rating should trigger all kinds of great catches in the game based on that Particular players rating but it doesn't work that way on the field.

It's the same as the Kick Return rating.....it has no bearing on whether or not a return man is going to be dangerous with in the game. I would like to EA to really evaluate these things for once.

All the videos i see posted are always show casing the Human player. That video you showed is a prime example of EA pre-release HYPE Machine. For once please let the CPU AI actually do those things on the field.

Probably a typo but I would agree with the sentiment that NCAA 12 delivered far less than it claimed.

NCAA 12 felt good for awhile and like NCAA 11 it seemed like post patch the game felt same old same old.

As for tendencies working out of the box, that would be a breathe of fresh air. It would be nice to see a game not need patches to fix fundamental flaws because that type of patch usually breaks something else.

Re: EA can we please get smart CPU AI with tendencies out of the box this year please

This is definitely the area that I worry about not getting enough emphasis by our Game Changer brethren when they are down at the studio with the development team.

If I knew that someone who is making the trek had the same level of commitment to high level execution by the CPU as Playmakers and Skillz, then I would feel much better about this finally being addressed after many years of being quite poor.

Based on what we know has been added this year, we can infer a certain amount of improved CPU competence, but I haven't heard anyone come out and say, "The CPU is exponentially improved in NCAA Football 13 in executing all aspects of every offense in the game." The same holds true for defense as well of course.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: EA can we please get smart CPU AI with tendencies out of the box this year please

jfsolo, I agree if they include and promote the different type of offenses in the game then the CPU AI should be able to execute and run those offenses they are assigned.

That has been the biggest mystery to me for the past 2-3 years.

Why can't the CPU teams run their own offense?

I would think that would be the easiest thing to fix in this game.

Yet here we are with NCAA 12 last year 5-6 years removed from the older versions on Playstation and the CPU has not once replicated the true ability to execute a Option Offense.

This would be like playing a basketball game and the CPU doesn't know how to run a pick n roll or a baseball game and they don't know how to bunt.
