One bad team for a warmup game
Two decent teams from BCS conferences
One elite team

Re: how do you typically scedule?

I always schedule with an eye towards recruiting. If one of my top preseason targets has a team in their top 5, I usually try to schedule them during a potential visit week.

Otherwise, if I'm a powerhouse, I'll load up on other top 5 teams in order to ensure that I don't get kept out of the title game (happened one time during a flukey season).

Re: how do you typically scedule?

At the mid-majors I'll usually schedule one really good game on the road, one game against a bad team and the other two against competitive teams. Once I get to my powerhouse team (VT) I'll do the same for a couple seasons but eventually I just put the teams I want to play every year in my conference, kick out the ones I don't care about, and use my OOC games to play at different stadiums I wouldn't get to see otherwise.

1 low level school, 1 medium level school and then I start a home and home with a school like Texas, Florida, Oklahoma etc. 1st year I'll play them at home then the next I'll play them away.

Depends what type of team I'm playing with. If I've got a shot at a NCG I'll schedule like it. If I'm building a team up I'll schedule like it. I try to keep it realistic though.

Yeah, while I hate the way cupcakes are scheduled in real college football, I also try to be realistic with my scheduling. So usually one top 10 team, one cupcake and a pair of middle of the road teams.

It would be cool if schools could refuse to play you unless you did a home and home or something like that. I don't see LSU agreeing to a road game at Idaho but with the current system its possible. So I try and manually do home and homes if I can.
