Re: Blocking like this really scares me in NCAA13

I've been preaching this ever since the demo came out, but it seemed like people didn't really care because I never really got a reply to my posts/comments.
The blocking in this game is horrific, the OP just show one example. Other instances are when the DT's bull-dozes offensive guards multiple times a game. Open field blocking is terrible, and on kickoff returns, their could be a wall of three 3 to 4 blockers and one defender, and some how the defender gets right through the wall of blockers and tackles you!
The sad thing is, this has been in the game for years, until the redo blocking and pass rushing from the ground up, this will continue to happen.

Everyone is spot on, yet because we love football we just keep buying. The blocking has always been bad, can't count the miss blocks on sweeps or counters by my linemen right in FRONT of the defender. I am going to be strong this year and not buy 13.

WOW. I'll be honest. Reading the comments back-and-forth reminds me why we as a football community have a hard time trying to get a better football game from EA Sports. We'd rather argue with one another about nuances. When can we as a community finally work with one another to finally band together toward progress. I would hope we would all agree that the blocking in the game has been overdue for a change. It is UNREALISTIC to have two blockers just back peddle without any effort to neutralize the pass rush. I don't care about situation. EA Sports. If it's in the game. It's in the game. What happened to that motto? Damn people.

Honestly they didn't do much with the OL this year so I know wonky things like that will occur. Hopefully AWR edits on the offline side will help. We'll see though. I just don't want to see DT Insta-shed every play like last year. So even though its weong on every. Single. Level. I would take it over what was happening last year

Line play definitely needs fixing next season with the infinity engine coming on.

Pretty sure I've never seen a real play where there are two blockers on one side, and the defensive end goes completely untouched. If you can find a vid of that happening in real life, I'd love to see it.

The very first play of this highlight from the 05 AUB/ALA is pretty dang close.

Very first play of this video

A couple, while not exactly like the games video, that are pretty dang close in this tape

while not a high level of football..this tackle litterally gives the DE an ole on this one.

youtube is full of videos like that....it's amazing just how bad blocking actually is from the NFL on down at times, and how frequently this actually happens.

Those are all very good examples of failed blocking assignments but not glitchy blocking; the former should happen in game, the latter should not. That Auburn sack in particular was a thing of beauty (unless you're a Bama fan). But in each video the sack occurs because the linemen are engaged with other defenders not because two players ran into each other and couldn't initiate their pass blocking animations.

The only real life example I can think of that mirrors the in game sack is the '08 Sugar Bowl where Marcus Howard blows past a Hawaii tackle virtually untouched and destroys Colt Brennan. But in that situation the tackle lined up too far outside and Howard beat him inside not to mention the talent discrepancy between Georgia and Hawaii was far greater than Oregon and USC.

Up on the stick has never been a lob pass. A tap has been a lob pass since the PS2 days. It's been in damn near every year since then. The stick was used last year to place the ball in different spots on the field, too.
