Yea, its realistic as a scholarship offer is by far the biggest promise you make to a recruit. It would be nice along with a few more roster slots.

You're really screwing a kid over if you offer him a scholarship ("Hey, I want you to come play for my team"), and then cut him before he even plays a down. Now he most likely can't go play elsewhere, because most schools have full rosters. You've pretty much just stolen a year of his football life.
It's a video game. I could careless. At least I know he will not be on a CPU kicking my ***.

Are you Nick Saban? Cutting 5-10 people should make your integrity go down just like it would in real life if the player thought he would be cut if he wasn't good enough

It's a video game. He should have tried more. In the end you have to cut people anyways. So why does it matter how I recruit and who I cut?

Re: End of Recruiting Issue

Regarding the cutting scholarships issue....

So, if a guy your recruited three years ago hasn't progressed...or you have built up your program where you're getting higher talent levels....

...cutting the guy on scholarship from three years ago affects coach integrity?

If not, why not? It's the same as cutting a guy that's brand new. Even worse, actually. Cutting a guy in his senior year would be worse than a guy who can't make a team.

It's just not realistic to be able to cut anybody you want. No way a coach would get away with cutting 10+ players a year and still be coaching or at least have some major sanctions.

First of all there are players that get recruited, but cannot compete. Does not mean they lose their scholarship to attend school. They are just subjected to a practice squad or cut all together. They still keep their scholarship to go to school. If a guy comes in to my school and is always getting injured you better believe im cutting him the next off season.

You are only partially on the side of realism (not by your own choice). The fault is that in real life your roster consists of damn near 100 players not just 75. The other side of that is plenty of guys in real life can't hack it academically, commit crimes, or home sick. If you think about those guys not leaving your team on the game you will always have more guys coming in than graduating until season 4.
