Is anyone noticing these issues with recruiting?

I think recruiting needs to be worked on a little. I love the new system, but I don't like how the computer handles it. I was able to sign the #2 and #3 QB's in the nation at MTSU and North Texas in consecutive years because they were never offered by anyone else. I think if you get up early on recruits, the CPU will give up and move on to other prospects instead of going after the ones they should be able to take from you. Its just weird to see my recruiting board filled with prospects all 3 and 4*'s with only a few having more than one offer.

I also notice one other thing, I took over for UCLA in year three after they went 11-3 and they had 15 or so commits, all 1*'s. I haven't increased the difficulty yet, so maybe it gets better, but from what I have seen it could use some work.

Try bumping up the difficulty, I have it set on AA and I don't have this issue.

Heisman recruiting is the only difficulty anyone should be using IMO.

Yea I'll definitely bump up the difficulty. This just came to my mind as I was reading the thread on here about the guy bringing in 8 or so 4*s at Texas State.

well they mentioned it in the august patch notes, that you get points for promises every week, not just the week the promises were made in

that explains why recruiting suddenly went from impossible with Memphis to easy with Texas. Since i recruited probably 75% of my guys from Texas, I promised them a game in their homestate, and that made it such that I got 90+% of my guys to commit to me

I have a question about the in home state game promise, are you promising them playing time in a home state game or just the home state game on the schedule? Basically i am wondering if you promised a kid a game in his home state but he ended up red shirting year one, will that make him transfer?

Re: Is anyone noticing these issues with recruiting?

The problem as I see it is two-fold.

The CPU won't go after some players for a while because they are Busts, even if that only means they go from a 75 to a 70.

Being able to break into the Top Ten easily means that I can get to 2nd place in interest on a 4 star who isn't being recruited right away, and even though I'm a 1* and my pitches might stink, it doesn't take long to get to #1 and have him commit before someone else takes over. And this is the case even on Heisman.

That said, I mainly notice this with the offensive recruits - particularly at QB, HB and WR. I don't see this as much at defense.

That would explain it. I didn't see the patch notes before, but I can definitely see how getting those extra points each week would help fight off those bigger schools.
