Backup QB

I have kind of a unique situation. The day the patch dropped, i'm playing my first dynasty game post patch. I lose my starting Qb for the season. Ever since, it's been consecutive losses. Every game lost.
(I've only played 1 series with my starting QB post patch)

I was averaging 70+ rushing a game. past 3 games, haven't been able to rush over 25 yards.

Throwing picks like crazy.

In 3 games i've been shut out one game, and scored a total of 6 points in the other 2.

I'm playing as the Huskers, and have since adjusted my sliders.

3 questions
Is this a product of the patch making the game that much tougher?
Is the fact the backup QB is in, making my team that much worse?
And, in a single person OD does the week need to be advanced for slider tweaks to take effect?

1. Whenever there's a patch I always play some practice games outside of dynasties to see if I need to tweak my sliders. I actually didn't have to make any adjustments post patch this time around.
2. Is he young? If so, have you been playing on the road? Low AWR for QBs really shows when they play on the road. In general, if he's significantly worse than your starter, I'd expect some fall off for the team. As far as the rushing game goes (I'm a spread option guy) I've been running the ball just as well post patch as I did pre patch.

The game seems a lot harder after the patch. My Arizona offensive line was manhandled in consecutive games by UTSA and UMass. My rushing numbers have dropped dramatically on default AA. I don't want to start changing my sliders around if a tuning update is coming out to tone down some of the new changes.

What kind of ratings does your backup have? What kind of QB is he?

You might look into changing your offensive strategy, ala the Broncos and Tim Tebow last season, to make things work. I wouldn't change sliders because eventually you will have a starting QB and it may make the game too easy.

Hes balanced. I believe 80 ovr. 79 accuracy, 91 thp.

I've also seen my offensive production drop post patch.

I'm no longer getting running lanes up the middle, whenever I try and bounce it to the outside I'm able to break off long runs but I'm not seeing my back cut the corner as crisp as he did pre patch. The DE is constantly in my hip pocket, and I'm just edging the OLB.

I think the secondary play, especially middle range, has been amped up. I've thrown more picks in the middle to outside of the field since the patch dropped. LB's and CB's are reacting a lot faster than they did before.

Good arm strength, but accuracy isn't the greatest. Maybe look to utilize a shorter passing game.

What's his speed like? If he can run, perhaps some option plays would work. I'd also lean heavy on my RB. I know you've said you have struggled running, but I'd stick with it.

i dropped cpu rush defense to 40 for my game last night and ended up torching a weak penn st. on the ground.
