How to stop the Screen...

Just a quick question as to what defense works really well at stopping the screen play.

Set the DE on the playside to man up on the halfback. Or cover it yourself with an unblocked DT.

I pay attention to patterns players have. When I feel like its coming. Hot route strongside end to the flats.

Very simple.

Select a regualr man to man defense.

Then see who is assigned to cover the HB. That is the guy your going to be, but we are going to do one more thing to the play.

Then select the DE on the side you feel the screen is going to be run to. Hot route that defensive end to a QB contain.

You do this by highlighting the DE end hit Y or triangle button then push the left analog stick down. Then go back and select the player that is assigned to the HB.

It only takes a few seconds to do all of this trust me. You just have to get use to it, but this does a great job is smasing the screen play. Just start making the adjustment the second the huddle breaks.

Practice it.

Re: How to stop the Screen...

I use anything but a blitz. Even a small blitz works from time to time.

I've had almost no luck with screens this year. There's a guy on my HB pretty much every time I run one. Half the time my QB throws it 10 feet over his head
