What is the future of WAC Football?

I tried to accurately move teams to their respective conferences after the 2012 season and, well, I couldn't! The WAC is left with 3 schools (4 being the minimum) and from what I've read, Idaho wishes to go back to the FCS... Am I missing something, or is the WAC going to be defunct?

WAC is dropping football after this season. No word on what the remaining schools are going to do.

No the conference is no longer supporting football after this season. Idaho and New Mexico State are looking into become independent for 2013.

Great articles, guys. However, I don't think we've seen the last of the WAC. I think that they will successfully gather enough quality football programs by MAYBE 2015 to regain FBS status.

So far, the WAC has only said they won't sponsor football for '13. They want to take a year or two off and try to get more football-playing schools to join (most likely from FCS) and hopefully come back in time for '14 or '15.

Personally, I think it's dead and never coming back.

I think they will take this year and next to find more schools in an attempt to bring football back to the WAC but I think geographically and fcs schools desire to transition to fbs level just wont be there.

Like everyone else stated, the WAC will still be around but they won't be sponsoring football after this year.
