MOST UNREALISTIC/RARELY DISCUSSED ISSUE
You will never see a receiver surrounded by four defenders in a real football game. In both NCAA and Madden I see this too often. At most you might see double coverage of a receiver and a safety joins in on a deep lob pass. Even that shouldn't happen in four or five receiver sets. Player speed and awareness are not realistic when you consider the dimensions of a football field. Defenders in EA games are able to quickly leave the receivers they cover and run faster then a football flys to cover another receiver after a ball has been thrown to them. Its one of the reasons screen passes rarely work. Speed thresh at zero may add to this problem but even when its toned down defenders cover way too much of the field to be realistic. What good is a spread offense when you can't actually spread out the defense? Even weak arm QBs should throw faster then players can run. Speed of players and the passed football in relation to the field dimensions need to be accurate to fix this problem.
