Trouble defending pro/pass a-lot offense

Everytime i face a team that likes to pass a lot (SMU, WVU, USC, pro offenses) i always get burned and beat. None of my plays work (man, zone coverage). I can never stop the pass. I run a 4-3 defense. What should i do? Im playing as Texas State

Re: Trouble defending PRO offense

None of those teams run pro offenses...

As for what to do, I assume you aren't lining up to try and defend 4+wide in the 4-3 right? Also, as texas state, your going to get burned a lot by those teams, they're a lot better than you. To alleiviate some of it, try stunting linemen, or even just adding them on additional short zones on known passing downs

Re: Trouble defending PRO offense

Start recruiting tall, fast corners!!!!! and fast Safetys, stick with man to man nickle for 3 wr dime for 4 wr. if u do play zone stick with cover 4 or cover 3

Re: Trouble defending PRO offense

I have found success defending the Pro offense by blitzing the Line backers, having my safties in man and Corners in zone.

Re: Trouble defending PRO offense

i look at it the other way, safeties zone, cbs man, backers (1 set for certain formations - coverage another fast blitz)

i like 2-4-5 and 2-3-6 altho i wish it wasnt with 3 on the line

you also have to figure out for example is your ss#2 better or worse than either fs#2 or cb#3. the answer then can either make you do some formation subs or prefer some formations over others

nickel - normal 3 cb, 4-2-5 - 2 ss 1 fs 2 cb
