Southern Hospitality: The Journey Through The SEC (ps3)

The SEC is the most dominant and popular conference in the NCAA. This OD will be a drag out battle type of OD. No lead is safe, No team is fully complete because injuries will happen and guys will have to step up. The Goal is 1st a SEC Crown but afterwards the winner will represent us in the BCS Title game. This OD isnt for the weak of heart or easily frustrated. If you cant handle Losses this isnt the OD for you. If you aren't Sim gamer, this isnt for you. Fun, smack talk, hard hits and hosting opponent after opponent with good ole SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY is the goal.

1. Introduction
This dynasty is a dynasty for mature gamers. We play a sim style of game here. We don’t tolerate cheesing, exploits, and glitching, We are looking to for realistic game play. We aren’t overly strict. We are here for the gamers. We are just overseeing the process. Communication is key.

2. Basic Rules
Quarters: 7 minutes
Difficulty: All American
Recruting Difficulty: All American
Dynasty Accelerators: Off
Penalties: On and adjusted for realism.
Rosters: Luvtotha9s
Sliders: Will be used and updated in order to improve realism.
Advancement: See Section 2.1
Injuries: On.
Fatigue: On.
Coaches Mode: Off.

Coaching Carousel: We are only using SEC teams. Create yourself as the HEAD COACH.

Conferences: True to real life (Including future changes, such as Syracuse and Pitt to the ACC)

Scheduling Rules: See section 2.2

2.1 Advancment
During the regular season: Typical Advancement is 3 times a week. [Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 12:01 a.m.ET]. These days were selected because it splits the weekend, and gives more time during the week where getting together to play a game is harder.

During the Offseason: pending

"Holidays" should be taken into account by the Commissioner. It's generally a good idea to not advance on Thanksgiving holiday, Christmas, etc. But this is at the discretion of the Commissioner.

Each player is responsible for completing their activities for each period. A Commissioner should only wait to advance if one player is mid-game at the time of advancement. Otherwise, Advancment goes on regardless if someone isn't done.
If a player misses 2 straight advances, they are put on auto-pilot.
If a player misses 5 straight advances, they are removed from the dynasty.

2.2 Scheduling
Season 1 Schedule should be true to life. FCS Teams will be replaced with regular teams and if you would like a specific team or user on your schedule arrangement can be made.

After Season 1, every user is required to play 3 user vs. user games every season, at least 1 must be Out of Conference. More User v. User games can be assigned if both players agree OR the structure of the schedule is such that the

Commissioner cannot assign everyone exactly 3 games (some would get 4).

Scheduling requests should be made on the dynasty facebook group. (See Section 3). Order of scheduling precedence should be as follows.
1. Previous existing agreements (such as finishing a home and home series).
2. Mutual Agreements (two players agree to start a new series or a single game).
3. Balancing requests (try not to make someone play the three highest ranked users in the dynasty if they don't want to).
4. Whatever else fits to get the neccessary games.

If a player doesn't make requests on the dynasty website, they will be assigned games based solely of making the schedule work.
In addition, every player, when possible, should be given a warm up game as their first game against low ranked FBS teams (do not use FCS teams as that can hurt recruiting). A player can opt out of this game for a mutually agreed upon User v. User game, but cannot ask to play a highly ranked CPU team as the warm up (artificially boosting strength of schedule).
A user can only play 1 [or 2, if the Commissioner decides] pre-season ranked CPU team Out of Conference (i.e., no loading up on Top 10 teams to boost strength of schedule), with the exception of traditional OOC rivalries.

3. Website
It is very important to have a method of communication outside of the game. This is what seperates 6 season+ dynasties from ones that don't even get to the bowl games. We will be using Facebook as a main way of communicating.

The Commissioners will serve as the groups admin, and membership should be limited to only those actively in the online dynasty.
A list of things typically on the website:
-Advancement Announcement
-List of players (with PSN and team being used) in the dynasty.
-Scheduling requests
-News stories (basically, be your own journalist. EA has added this into the game) These are OPTIONAL.
-Etc.

4. Black and White Rules
These are Gameplay Rules that are clearly defined and have a set of penalties attached. The Commissioner is tasked with enforcing these rules strictly with the assigned penalties.

4.1 Restarts (against CPU)
Restarting CPU games is forbidden. If a player has to restart a game because of Power Outage, loss of connection, etc. the player must Message the Commisioner (either via PSN messaging, e-mail, or facebook post or text.) BEFORE the player can restart the game. The Commissioner has the right to deny the request of a restart if the Commissioner has reason to believe the restart is solely an attempt to win a game the user was losing.
1st Penalty: Game results thrown out, game simmed. Private Warning.
2nd Penalty: Game results thrown otu, game simmed. Public warning posted to dynasty forum.
3rd Penalty: Game results thrown otu, game simmed. Public warning posted to dynasty forum. User is placed on Auto-Pilot for next 3 games (even if it is User v. user games).
4th Penalty: Removal from Dynasty

4.2 Missing Advancement
It is acceptable to occasionally miss games. However, if a user is expected to miss multiple advancements consecutively, the user is expected to notify Commissioner and be placed on auto-pilot (or place themselves on auto pilot). If you miss several weeks without notification, you will be penalized.
Miss 2 Straight Advances: Put on Auto-Pilot. Message Commissioner to be taken off.
Miss 5 straight Advances: Removal from Dynasty.
These penalties will not apply if you notify Commissioner you will miss several advances (such as going out of town on business).

4.3 The "Filibuster"
This is a tactic I've seen used in my OD in the past. The filibuster is basically refusing to respond to requests to play a user. v. user game, (usually hoping sim results favor you over playing the game). This is not easy to detect, but is expressly prohibitied. If a user A receives a message from user B, and User B doesn't respond even though he has been on PSN actively, this is a sign of the filibuster. If a user claims to be filibustered, they can notify Commissioner. The Commissioner should message the accused, demanding that both players agree on a time to play. If the Accused User doesn't respond, they can be placed on auto-pilot. If they do respond, but refuse to play, they are removed from the dynasty. If the accused responds after being placed on auto-pilot but before advancement, then the existing game results can be thrown out and both users can play. However, if a user is on PSN repeatedly, but still doesn't respond, it is a sign of a Filibuster, which can result in immediate removal.

4.4 Recruiting Limits
In order to prevent "defensive" recruiting (that is, recruiting players you don't need just to take them away from someone else), We have recruiting limits. Each user is limited to sign (not recruit, but sign) either 25 recruits, or the number of Graduating Seniors plus 4 (If you redshirt a senior, it does not count towards this number), which ever number is less. This means if WVU is graduating 18 players, the coach at WVU can only sign 22 players for the class. If a player leaves early for the draft or transfers, you can recruit one additional player for each player that leaves early. (Note, if one team graduates more than 21 players, they are still limited to 25 by the game). There are two sets of penalties for going over, depending on how much a user goes over by.

If the user goes over by 3 or less (generally considered accidental):
1st Offense - Cut the number of players you go over this limit. Private Warning. (Accidents happen).
2nd Offense - Cut the number of players you go over this limit times two. For example, if you go 3 scholarships over, you must cut six players.
3rd Offense - Repeat Offense 2, also limited to (Seniors Leaving) scholarships next season (without +4)
4th Offense - Repeat Offense 2, scholarships limited to (Seniors Leaving - 4) next season.
5th Offense - Removal from Dynasty

If user goes over by 4 or more:
1st Offense - Cut (number of players you go over + 2). Limited to (Seniors Leaving) scholarships next season (without +4).
2nd Offense - Cut (number of players you go over + 4). Limited to (Seniors Leaving - 4) scholarships following season.
3rd Offense - Removal from dynasty.

Note, if you violate the rule by going over by 4 or more, and the next season you violate by going over 3 or less, you jump to the third offense of the 3 or less chain.

4.5 Onsides Kicks
-If you are leading or tied, you may under no circumstances line up in an onside kick formation. You are allowed to attempt to recover the ball from a normal kickoff formation, but onside kick is banned.
-Onside Kicks are banned in the 1st Half under all circumstances.
If you violate this rule, the game results can be thrown out. If repeated violations occur, removal is warranted.

4.6 Player Positions: In order to be fair, players need to be listed at their position (or at a related position). Below is a list of players who can play a position. If you want to move a player from, say, WR to QB, you have to change their listed position in the offseason to QB. Until then, that WR CANNOT play QB. Here are the positions as well as who can play them (without a position change).
QB-QB (only listed QBs can play QB. If all listed QBs are injured, message the Commisioner)
HB-HB, FB, WR
FB-FB, TE, HB
TE-FB, TE, (you can play a WR at TE only if you don't have enough TEs or FBs, in which case you should message commissioner.
WR-WR, TE, FB, HB
OL-OL, TE (all online are interchangable, TEs can only play tackle)

Defense
DL-DL (you can only use LBs as part of a in-game substitution package, not on the depth chart). Linebacker pass rush packages should not be used as a constant in game.
LB-LB, S
CB-CB, S
S-S, CB

Violations: If you play a game, and a player is found to be in an illegal position, that game is thrown out (this counts CPU games). If it continues, you will be removed from the dynasty.

4.7 Hacking/Glitching - Use of a hack or glitch, on of off the field, (such as the QB Walk from 09, as an example) results in immediate removal from the dynasty. No exceptions. No warnings.

4.8 Quarters Defense(Part 1): Run commits using a Quarters defense is banned. If you want to stop the run, use a different formation. (There are more Quarters Defense rules in 5.4.1)

4.9 Joining Dynasty after Season 1: Players can join during the offseason. If you request to join during the season, you will be delayed until the offseason. We have a Max of 12 teams (limited by the game)

5. Judgement Calls
-Penalties: All of these rules are penalized at the discretion of the Commisioner and can be penalized at any level from warnings to removal from dynasty. All decisions by the Commisioner are final.

5.1 Fourth Downs
Use a reasonable judgement when to go for fourth down and when not to. If you are going for it everytime, you will be penalized. I cannot put Black and White rules on when you can and cannot go for fourth down, as that would stifle coaching freedom. But I can say that if you're going for it 8 or more times a game, you will be removed. Use common sense, and a play realistically.

5.2 2-Point Conversions
Similar to fourth down, use reasonable judgement. Note: I have applied this one black and white rule to going for 2.
1) If you are leading by 17 or more (which is three scores), going for 2 in the second half is banned (with the ONE exception of having a 19 point lead, in which going for 2 puts you up by an even 3TDs.

5.3 Sportsmanship
Do not insult people you are playing, whether winning or losing. Treat each other with respect. Some good examples of sportsmanship
-If someone gets disconnected or has to leave, when you start the game over, match the score differential from the get go (say Team A was leading Team B by 14, Team B should then give Team A 14 points on the game's restart).
-Use Chew clock when you are leading by a lot (use your discretion)
-Don't run up the score or stats.

5.4 Cheesing
The infamous cheesing. I'm going to break this down into several sub-categories. Basically, these apply to playing the game in such a way that is unrealistic due to exploiting flaws in defensive or offensive AI controls.

5.4.1 Quarters Defense (Part 2): Quarters Defense is designed for late half or game passing scenarios. Use it for that. Feel free to use it if a team is doing nothing but passing, Ideally, it should only be used within the last few minutes of a half or game in obvious passing situations. Otherwise use Dimes or Nickels. If people exploit this, it will be made a Black and White rule with Hard penalties.

5.4.2 QB Scrambling/Running: You have every right to run with the QB, even on a passing play. However, if you are rolling back 15 yards and running around in circles, that's not realistic. Don't do it. If I receive multiple complaints from different people, you will be removed from the dynasty, as we don't want people who do this.

5.4.3 DE Play: If you are controlling the Defensive End, you may not line up more than 2 body widths outside of the Offensive Tackle. If you line up farther outside repeatedly, you are in violation.

5.4.4 Preplay player movement: Moving your player back and forth is not allowed preplay. No player ever has a running start on a play. Your players must be set.

5.4.5 Play Calling: Offensively and Defensively schemes, strategies and styles of play are up to you. Mix up your play calling. We should not see man coverage every play or press man every play. No team can run the same 2 or 3 plays all game. Offensively if you are a run heavy team, imnot hear to say dont run the ball. If you want to bludgeon your opponent, fine with me but do so in a way that is conducive to football. Bleeding the clock on every play is not allowed unless with a lead in the 4th or at the end of the half. If you question if something is shady, it may be.

6. NOTES
This document can be amended at anytime. Notification of the Changes will be posted to the website.

Pass Commit and Run Commit are banned
Aggresive game plan settings have been banned but conservative settings are OK to use.
