Stopping the read option...I CAN'T STOP IT!! Is it a glitch???

Help...I need help stopping the read option play...seems like I've tried every possible defense....any help is appreciated! Do you guys think that play is a glitch play??? I've been playing guys that run this play 30 times per game....#fml

Anyway try the 3-3-5 for doing the spread offense. It works for me.

They are just reading your defense. Which ever way they are going is the side where the DE is either blocked or collapsed. So maybe try some QB contain. Also be a DE either one and if you see its an option just stop and dont pursue. So then they will have to hand it off or youll be able to make the tackle. If they hand it off your defense should be able to take care of it.

What defender do you play as? Makes a huge difference.

Play as a linebacker. Whatever side the QB would run on, have an OLB (you control) Contin him on the outside while having the others blitz inside. Usually works for me.

watch very carefully if the QB hands it off or not(I usually press the left trigger cuz I play on the 360 so I can read the play and keep the guy I'm controlling at a 2-pt stance) yeah what the guy before me said have a spy on one side of the ball(I'd prefer having a DE be the spy then again I run a 4-2-5 defense) and you control the other side. If all else fails, tackle both the QB and RB and just hope you don't get called for a penalty.
