Slant Routes

How do I stop them? Do I need to fix my depth chart and put some FS in to cover the TE? When I run zone he throws between the zones, and when I run man as soon as the TE cuts outward he's wide open, and the man assigned to him wont keep up with him. The guy does this using a 2 TE set. How do I stop him on defense?

You're asking about slants, but you talk about the receiver breaking "outward." Are you asking out corner routes or slants?

Re: Slant Routes

Excuse me for being dumb lol, but I don't know what the technical name for the routes are. I'm talking bout when you Hot Route a guy and hit the right analog stick right or left like the picture below. Whenever they break inward or outward, I can't ever cover it.

Do you have a video? The slant out doesn't exist in NCAA 13. Hot route R stick toward the outside gives you the whip. RS inside is a slant. LS in/out are 5yrd dig/out.

Re: Slant Routes

I took a pic of it with my Iphone...I'm talking about whenever someone Hot Routes, and hits left or right on the right analog stick...I don't know the technical name for the routes.

You must be playing 12. The only way to consistently guard the slant out is to user it. It was the most abused route of '12 because it's virtually impossible to stop, with two TE's a good user will hit it 90% of the time. Technically a slant out doesn't exist in real football. Try manually jamming the TE off the line(R1 IIRC) then switch to guard the other side.

Go Vols!

Re: Slant Routes

I am talking about when the TE go across the field. When it's the TE on the left side, he's going toward the right, and when it's the TE on the right side he's going toward the left like below. It's the routes with the players I circled in red. I don't know the technical names for the routes, but I do not know how to defend this. I need help badly lol.

Re: Slant Routes

I'm not playing 12. If you would of noticed, Oklahoma wasn't ranked 5th in NCAA 12. I was using a quick exhibition game to take the IPhone pictures. Oregon was ranked 5th on 12. This link has 12's rankings. http://traditionsportsonline.com/nca...tings-revealed And there is my disc below.
