Where these games have a problem is when a wr and a db are right on each other when the ball is in the air. Where they need to improve on with the wr is how they interact with the db while the ball is in the air. The same goes for the db. There should be more of a fight as in both guys smacking each others hands away and going for the ball at it's highest point. It would translate well over to fade routes and stuff. Every catch a receiver makes is not always over the shoulder. They should utilize the stat of "jumping" in these games. I think it should be something more dynamic than just the same canned animation.
Calvin Johnson is a great example. The catch that's ranked # 2 in this video shows the art of the jump ball although the db really doesn't leave his feet. It's a beauty to look at the wr secure the ball after a struggle.
