Deferring the Coin Toss

This isn't something that really bothers me, but as complex as football video games have become, why can't you defer to the second half if you win the toss? I have played all the big name games (NFL games too), and I don't recall any having this option. Just curious.

Re: Deferring the Coin Toss

Deferring is when you choose to defend an endzone as opposed to kicking or recieving. All games have always had this.

Re: Deferring the Coin Toss

No, deferring is when you wait until the second half to decide.

Example:
Team A wins the toss and Defers.
Team B then chooses Kick off/Receive or Side.
Team A then chooses whatever B did not.

After Halftime, now Team A chooses Kick off/Receive or side
Team B gets to choose whatever A did not.

So it is possible, but very rare for the same team to kick off to begin each half.

That is the way the rule used to work....maybe they have changed it???

Re: Deferring the Coin Toss

Actually now that I think about it Cardot is right, I remember watching an NCAA game where Wisconsin elected to kickoff to start the game (I think the coach wanted the player to say defer instead of say kickoff but he messed up) and Wisconsin ended up kicking off both halves... So I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure thats how it works.
