Are we sure that the WAC wont be in? It is EA we are talking about here.

I completely forgot it was going away.

I have a Google Docs spreadsheet set up for it -- expanded upon when I did something similar in NCAA Football 12. I'll share that when I'm finished. However, I can give you a basic idea of what I expect the regions to be:

Elite:
  • Big Ten: west of Mississippi
  • SEC: east of Mississippi

Upper:
  • Pac-12: West coast, potentially into Texas
  • BIG XII: Southeast, also potentially into Texas
  • ACC: Midwest, Northeast

Lower:
  • MWC: West coast, Rocky Mountain states
  • C-USA: Texas, Louisiana
  • Sun Belt: East coast, Florida to Virginia
  • MAC: Midwest
  • American: Northeast
Independents can be anyone, obviously

By the way, here's the setup I'm using in NCAA Football 12 (with the WAC): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...2c&usp=sharing

The important/interesting tabs are the "Season YYYY" tabs.
  • Green indicates conference champion
  • Yellow indicates division champion
  • Blue indicates highest-ranked non-champion
  • Red indicates last-place team to be relegated
Some of the moves are kind of odd (like Miami going to the West Coast-based Big Ten), but I figured, what's college football without some controversy?
Wow talk about a Mountain West (IRL) take over there in the last couple years.

Yeah, Fresno State has probably been one of the surprisingly good teams as of late in that dynasty.

Re: Custom Conference Ideas in NCAA 14

I really dislike conferences having more than 12 teams, and the idea of every conference having 12 teams bothers me, too, so I'm going to have a lot of independents. It's still kind of up in the air at the moment. Losing the WAC makes it really, really difficult.

I agree with the first part, but completely disagree with the second part...I too hate having more than 12 but I love that we can have every other conference have 12 teams and a conference championship in every conference.

Re: Custom Conference Ideas in NCAA 14

I have updated my plan with the removal of the WAC and I think it should work really well. Here goes the details:

- All teams have their own region designation (W,C,NE, SE)
- 4 total tiers of promotion / relegation
- Each team is 'stuck' in its new tier after any promotion / demotion for 3 years. This is to stop the constant flop of borderline teams and lend some stability.
- Elite tier is 2 super conferences with each individual region filling a division. This one should be loaded and totally cut-throat. Lowest eligible team in each division is dropped to High tier.
- High tier is 4 10 team conferences. Each eligible winner (or next highest eligible finisher) moves up to Elite. Lowest eligible team in each division is dropped to Mid tier.
- Med tier is 4 10 team conferences. Each eligible winner (or next highest eligible finisher) moves up to High. Lowest eligible team for the region which promoted an independent is demoted to independents.
- Low tier is 14 independents (3/4/3/4 per region). The eligible team with the best record (or next highest eligible finisher) moves up to Mid.

Conf Teams West Central Northeast Southeast
Elite 2 16 Big 10 W Big 10 C AAC NE AAC SE
High 4 10 PAC 12 Big 12 ACC SEC
Med 4 10 MWC C-USA MAC Sun Belt
Low 1 14 IND W IND C IND NE IND SE

I would love to see your team alignment when you get it figure out.
