It only shows up when looking at play art so even without the read indicator, if you show your opponent your play art, he'll know it's an option anyway.

Does it only shows when you show the play art for your actual play and not bluff play art?

I haven't checked, but I'm sure it's tied to your play art so if a bluff is for an option, I'm sure it'd have the appropriate key and if it isn't I'm sure there'd be no key.

IE. If you called a read option, then the read key would show as your defensive end. If a bluff was a speed option, I'd guess there'd be a pitch key on the DE or if the bluff was for a midline option then there'd be a read key on a DT.

Re: How do you turn off the "read" icon?

I really dont see the problem here. I have been running the flexbone in NCAA since it appeared (4 years ago?). The fact that NCAA uses some quite unusual logic at times to determine the dive and pitch read, I find it is almost necessary.

Additionally with many different philosophies on how to run the option and different philosophies on who to read given different defenses it is once again quite helpful.

If they are not in a 5-2 the dive on an outside veer should almost always be the EMLOS. But this isn't always the case in NCAA. Trying to use actual football logic in this game can be frustrating. So long story short. The dive and pitch reads are a good thing.

I see both sides of the argument. However, I think it is quite easy (too easy maybe) to run the read option as is. I think removing the indicators on AA and Heisman would help limit its effectiveness somewhat. That would be helpful when playing online and in online dynasties.

I play 90% of my games against my buddies face to face on the same system in the same room. I don't want something that will key them or me into knowing that the other guy is running a certain play. Its already hard enough to fool your opponent without a giant letter appearing to clue them in.

Then don't hit RT and RS up to show him your play art.
