Meant BS - it's a replay image, not actual line of scrimmage image - that's where the image is a pixelated mess for the most part.

I got ya. In all honesty, not trying to start an argument or anything, but I do no see these jaggies. I saw the picture posted earlier in this thread and that looks absolutely nothing like my game when I'm playing. Maybe people never calibrated their tvs and the settings are too high, especially the sharpness. I'm not arguing that the Xbox version looks better, but I don't think that the ps3 graphics are bad at all.

I am with you. I have both consoles and the ps3 (albeit demo) looks nothing like that jagged mess earlier in this topic. I DID pre order the xbox version and am playing the early release xbox version and IMO, it is graphically superior...but barely. It is just common knowledge that this gens EA programmers SUCK at using cell technology, period. As long as EA keeps porting to the cell I stay away. Next gen should be different and if its not I smell "funny buisness" The ps3 version, gameplay, looks good if you dial in your tv. This being said I can make the ps3 version look terrible if I mess with my tv settings.

The PS3 has less ram, but it was ultra expensive and ultra fast at release. The PlayStation 3 has 256 MB of XDR DRAM main memory and 256 MB of GDDR3 video memory for the Graphics.. So 512 total. Meanwhile the Xbox also had 512 mb of ram, that was shared between the graphics and the CPU. The only difference between the 2 is that XDR ram is much faster and the ps3 does not allow you to borrow from Peter to pay Paul while Xbox 360 will let the CPU have up to 70% of the total ram in the box.

Not meaning to have a console war here; just stating facts.

So the restrictions are on both sides. However like many have said, EA does not know the cell processor like Sony's first party studios. Therefore the game will look better on the Xbox to a slight degree.

Re: PS3 Jaggies

This thread brings up a interesting topic. Which system will be the lead console for developing next gen? Will the games be ported over or made from the bottom up on each console?

Re: PS3 Jaggies

This topic comes up every year and I'm always confused by it.

To me, it's all about the eye of the beholder. I've seen some bad examples in this thread and in others in past years. NCAA never looks bad to me. I don't even have a high-end tv.

I play on a 47" Sanyo LCD and NCAA plays in 720p. This year, like every other year, I think it looks really good. The only graphical problems that ever bother me is the clipping in the crowd that I see during cutscenes and stuff like that.

I know some people are visualphiles, and have a different standard than others. But to me, NCAA looks great on my TV.

I think this may be the best year ever even. The colors are no longer washed out, and the fields are no longer a mix of yellowish-green. I know 11 was great, but right now I'm enjoying 14 too much to try and remember the details of 11.

I really think it's a matter of your TV and setup, and your settings. Some people's games really look different than mine. I'm sorry to see that.

On my TV and PS3 though? NCAA looks fantastic if you ask me.

Oh it was not. The PS3 actually can outperform the 360, but the problem is, as others have stated, that EA develops for the 360 and ports it to the PS3 and whatever isn't the lead platform is going to suffer. You can't compare PC specs to console hardware, the two are in vastly different leagues.
