Help: Recruiting an ATH. He has locked me out.

Depth chart doesn't change playing time but other targets will. This is really frustrating with athletes as you:
A - can't tell what EA has them slated as
B - often want to play them somewhere other than where EA has them slated as

I wish I had made my dynasty online so I could get a image of his ratings to show you guys. He literally can play any number of positions... and play them well. His ratings are crazy.

Playing time is based on underclassmen in the depth chart and other targets at the position. The depth chart is how a player gets the playing time grade in the first place. This is why I keep asking about what the player scouted to. My theory is that he scouted to an ovr that is less than someone at his projected position on the roster. In other words, his ovr was originally above this threshold player, but it is now below. You may not have noticed it until you went to recruit him in week 1.

In Recruiting, go to the My School Tab and use the right-side menu. It might be helpful to compare your ATH's playing time grade to those of others you're recruiting at target positions to see if you can figure out how the CPU sees him position-wise.

On a side note, I've noticed that when I sign players, the menu notification never shows ATH, but rather a position.

What was his playing time when you first added him? I am wondering if all athletes have a certain playing time until you scout them. We know that the CPU has a predetermined position for the athlete it will show when he is scheduled to visit. I wonder if this position sets in once scouted or once the season starts. He may now be comparing himself to, say, wr's or qb's on your depth chart, when before, he wasnt. It would be nice if there was an option for us to indicate what position we are recruiting the athlete for.
