I am looking forward to trying this out. I am curious to see how some of 14's issues are handled when I don't control the players. Do you ever use custom playbooks? I assume you do since you do coach mode and all.

I haven't dabbled in custom playbooks. I can typically run an offense from a default playbook

When do teams run a cover 2? I've always been a little confused on when to call it.

There isn't really a bad time to run Cover 2. It's really a base defense that you can run at all times in pretty much any situation. I kind of play the Tampa 2 defense: jam the WRs off the line before dropping into the zone, controlling the middle linebacker over the middle, and hoping the defensive line can create pressure before a WR gets open.

The way to beat this, offensively, is usually running straight at it. So I would say the one time not to use it would be when you're expecting the defense to run between the tackles, unless you're excellent at shedding blocks with a defensive lineman or linebacker.

My Bend But Don't Break D

Just finished a triple OT thriller against 8-1 (3-1) UL Lafayette. After going up 30-24 on a Kelton Hill scrambled our 2 pt try failed. ULL gets the ball back and, after Theo Agnew sets the GA State single game sack record (3), SO LB Joseph Peterson intercepted Broadway's pass to end the game. they came out with three WRs so I stayed in my base 4-3 and ran Cover 3 rushing 4 and leaving 7 in coverage for their 5 eligible receivers. INT

We improve to 5-5 (3-2) on the season.

That, was an intense game.
