This is the exact thing that I do.

I started noticing the trends others in the thread have noticed (tale of two halves) so now when I am home and turn it off the CPU plays more balanced for 4 quarters and the QB's first 4 throws dont determine if he goes 1-24 or 23-24. But keeping it on while on the road forces me to manage road games and opponent momentum.
