Does Ice the Kicker Ever Work Against CPU?

So we all know that CPU kickers make 99/100 FG attempts in this game, because the CPU won't even try the kick if it's out of the PK's range and all of the kickers in this game are deadly accurate.

I usually turn "Ice the Kicker" off in my dynasty because in the past I've thought it was a useless gimmick. But this year with the Coach Skill Tree option to negate Ice the Kicker and the "SuperKickers" for the CPU in this year's game, I've been wondering if it might be worth it to turn the feature back on.

My question is, does it work against CPU kickers? If you try to ice a CPU kicker, is he significantly more likely to miss the high-pressure kick? I'd like the strategy and depth this provides, and a way to actually try to stop crucial CPU kicks, but I don't want to use it if it's only going to be a hassle for me and the CPU is still going to drain 90% of the "iced" kicks.

Any thoughts or experiences with this?

EDIT: Just specifying that I'm talking about NCAA 14, to avoid any confusion.

I tried it once with NCAA14 with zero luck. I had a 75ovr Freshman kicker nail a 49yd field goal on me. This was during my practice dynasty. Since then I have been using some sliders based of Playmakers work and have not even needed "Ice the Kicker." I have only seen kickers in the mid 80s making kicks over 40yds with a high percentage.

I guess the way I view is if i'm up and have 3 timeouts to spare why not try it. I iced a kicker 3 times while up by three with 2 seconds left and he still nailed a 45 yarder. Went to double OT, I missed the 2 point conversion and they came back and pulled off a 20 yard run to get to the 5. THEN they pitched to their HB and my safety cleaned him up and he fumbles! My corner (King Holder, beast on the game) recovers and we win.


BTW this was in my dynasty, i was san diego state and i was playing UCLA.

CPU FG accuracy is one of those things that video games never seem to get right. Usually they are way too accurate, but I seem to recall at least one game were they missed too much...maybe NFL 2K2?? Compared to a lot of other complicated things that developers get right in the game, this seems like it should be pretty easy to program.

I've seen plenty of missed fg adjust ur fg sliders 40 accuracy or 35 is good for cpu
