Re: Worst/Dumbest Commentary Lines

I heard the spandex on a sumo wrestler one the other day and just laughed.

Other than that one I agree that the worst commentary is when it doesnt make sense with the situation or is the exact opposite of the situation.

After running it in for a touchdown with a fullback Herbie gives us this wonderful line:

"He is like a glorified lineman, he gets no recognition"

Sooo...what is glorified bout him?

I hate the line when you run the read option and HAND OFF the ball to the running back and they say the quarterback pitched the ball.

"Even if they would have recovered that onside kick there still probably wouldn't have been enough time" Well I guess not when their down by 21 points with only 27 seconds left. Duh.

I hear that when I'm down 7-3 early in the 4th.

Yes if he's glorified, then he must be getting recognition, no?

Re: Worst/Dumbest Commentary Lines

Seriously. The commentary (with few exceptions) has remained basically unchanged since NCAA 2004/Fall 2003 (my freshman year of college). We used to laugh then about Nessler's, "Almost intercepted" where it sounds as if he is about to hack up a lung or something. LOL. The recurring expression my friends and I would say was, "Fix this for next year." Ten years later...
