WR Breakdown Help

Could someone explain how the WR Breakdown before each play works? About 90% of the time, the numbers are negative. Does this mean my player has that much of an advantage over the other guy?

Thank you.

Re: WR Breakdown Help

if you're on offense and seeing negative. They your WR is worse than the guy covering him. If you're on defense and see negatives, that means your CB is better. Its breaking down the WR to the CB or defender covering him

Re: WR Breakdown Help

I think this system is broken. I compared an overall 89 WR (LSU) with an overall 72 CB (Old Dominion).

Speed: -4 (this was accurate, my WR was 4 points slower)
Height: 3 (this was almost accurate, my WR was 3 inches taller)
Release: 0 (this wasn't even close, WR was 18 higher)
Route Running: -8 (come on, a CB higher than a WR? That has to be broken and when comparing them, the WR was 25 higher!)

What is this feature? I didn't even know something like this was in. How do I find it?

I wonder what else I don't know about?

You have to unlock the ability to see Oline vs Dline & WR vs DB breakdowns through the Head Coach "in game" skill tree. I think it is a tier 3 skill but don't remember off hand.

you must unlock abilities only in dynasty/career.. in play now, or online versus it's always there and usable.

on xbox (pre-play):

RT + B = wr/db matchup

RT + RS Left = receiver +/- for passing

RT + RS Right = OL +/- for rushing

RT + RS Down = hot/warm/neutral/cold streaks

I believe the release value given is the wr's release minus the cb's press rating. As for route running it's the wr's route running minus the cb's man or zone coverage rating.

Why would you care what cb's route running and release rating where?
