ALL option plays can be stopped. Just like real life, you need to figure out who you want to stop. Me? I'd rather not have the QB running alone. With the key on the QB, you make allow your D to stop the running back.

If you have someone who's running the triple option out of it, you need to key on someone.

The read option doesn't need to be house ruled, you just have to know how to stop it.
Clearly you didn't read much of this thread.

I'm sorry, but 9/10 people just simply are not reading nor do they understand the point of this thread.

Re: Read Option House Rules

For those of you wondering what YPC should be (I find a lot of people, not necessarily those in this thread, think in terms of NFL YPC and not college) check out last year's leader here:

http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/f...ndividual/1001

There were 6 QBs in the top 42 rushers and the lowest YPC among them was 5.2 YPC. Manziel and Denard Robinson were both over 7 YPC. Of course the OP's 13 YPC is way over the top, but luckily (for me) I haven't even come close to anything stoopid like that.

Yeah, I originally posted:
"Clearly you didn't read much of this thread (including the OP)."

but then I went back and read the OP and realized it wasn't clear in it that he meant for himself against the CPU.

Re: Read Option House Rules

I play only offline dynasty and I'm in year 2 of using FAU and the spread-option no huddle offense.

I know how to run the option, in high school we ran the same exact offense as I was the starting quarterback.

I usually see the defense START the game by tackling the runningback every single time, which is what most defenses are told to do. Tackle the running back, and every pitch-option play, hit the quarterback no matter what.

Eventually, after the QB breaks a long run (for me its like 15 yards), the defense, especially a better team, starts to wait and force me to hand it off to the runningback. I've been shut down by good teams numerous times.

Somebody please tell me how to "Cheese" this system so that I break 50 yd touchdown runs every drive please, because it just ain't happening for my Owls

Re: Read Option House Rules

I think its going to make alot of people stop playing this game period, its way to easy to run against the cpu, i played a game to prove a point to a friend that it was to easy and had 600 yds with my qb, on heisman, jarodd21 sliders, some people just dont want to ever lose, i might be crazy but going undefeated for more than 2 yrs in a row is not real to me, and i get bored with the game, but every time someone puts a post about ea coming out with a patch it gets deleted, if there isnt a patch soon i will not be playing my game anymore, thats what needs to be posted so ea will listen, or maybe a better game will come out in the future
