Chasing the SIM?

I have been playing sports games and Ncaa football since the 90's mostly offline against the PC. Ever since games went from Easy, Medium and hard to sliders and attributes I have tinkered and toyed with these items to find the SIM. Remember back to your years of chasing the sim and see if there are any stories or thoughts you can come up with for your chase.

BTW do you think the next gen systems and the cloud will FINALLY be the end of dumb AI once and for all? WIll we finally see all these computations turn into true organic game play.

Could it go too far where the PC is too perfect and you want it to be dumbed down again?

We are still in the lab or on the generic editor trying to get the game to feel realistic. Hahaha

Re: Chasing the SIM?

Dumb AI won't end until developers make it end. Dumb AI was never a hardware issue, it was simply a developer issue. They got started off on the wrong foot this generation, so they spent 5 years playing catch up and the past 2 years IMO, speaking on NCAA 13 and NCAA 14, should have been in the game when the PS3 and Xbox 360 first came out.

Next gen, if they start off on the right foot, could be very good for sports gaming. But if they repeat their mistakes, it won't be. So it really just comes down to the developers and how much creative freedom their bosses give them. But the power of the 360 and PS3 was definitely there to have smart AI.

I have said it for years now on OS, if you start off on a solid foundation, the skies the limits. If you start off with cracks in your foundation, you will spend all your time trying to fix things instead of being creative. That pretty much sums up the Madden and NCAA series this generation. They spent all these years trying to fix things that they were left with and last year and this year they were finally able to be creative.
