Lightbulb Do You Remember Player Misconduct Suspensions

This Johnny Manziel stuff just got me thinking...

Remember when there were misconduct suspensions in NCAA Football?

They should have brought those back...it adds an extra element to each week and how you recruit players based on conduct.

yes pretty much everyone does

it gets mentioned on here like usually once a week

wont be added back because NCAA doesn't want it in the games because it makes student athletes look bad or something

Off the top of my head I cant recall, what years was that in the game and did they say why they removed it?

It was on last gen (PS2/Xbox) and was never on any of the 360/PS3 versions

I don't believe they made an official statement as to why they removed it but its pretty obvious

Re: Do You Remember Player Misconduct Suspensions

I remember on NCAA 10. Since I played with Army and at West Point integrity is a big thing, I made a house rule that the NCAA can have no interest in me so I couldn't take it easy on players.

3rd string OLB cheated on his test? BAM! Full season suspension.

Safe to say I had one of the cleanest programs in the nation.

They should add PEDs, and add a off the field rating. The lower the off the field rating the higher the chance of a player using PEDs.

I'd prefer, if they did bring it back, that they focus more on institutional control issues. Ie, cheating on tests, ncaa benefits violations, etc. Maybe generic failed drug tests, but I can't think of a PED suspension in recent memory.

Re: Do You Remember Player Misconduct Suspensions

If I remember correctly, the NCAA wants nothing to do with college football games and anyone who develops one will have to do without the NCAA logos and whatever else it is. So since the NCAA was the deciding factor on to do away with the whole infractions/player discipline, if there is any future college football games without the NCAA, maybe they can put infractions/player discipline back in, and whatever else the NCAA deemed as giving a bad reputation. But maybe I'm wrong?
