TRUE Coach Mode?

So my son and I started a dynasty and we always play Coach Mode. In the past iterations of NCAA Football we only had to select the play and let the play carry out on it's own in Coach Mode, even the special teams. We never had to kick the ball! Unfortunately in NCAA 14, we now have to manually perform the kicking. Why did they change that?

They didn't. Watch what happens when you start the kick and don't press the button again. The kick completes itself. It shows the meter moving this year, that's all.

Actually there's two versions of coach mode now. One is autopass where you still can control players and you have to kick for yourself.

To get "true" coach mode you have to select it at the game start screen where it shows the ratings for each team, and you can select the uniforms and playbooks. There are three control scheme options. I think the default is called "normal". The other two are 1-button and coach. If you select coach here you will get true coach mode where you cannot control any players and all kicking is automatic. It looks like you can still use the kicking meter but it has no effect. All you have to do to kick is flick the stick. "True" coach mode is not a permanent setting. You have to select it each game.

One thing to keep in mind is that for some reason scrambling QB's tuck and run in true coach mode much more often than they do in autopass. Putting the intentional grounding slider at 99 helps this to some extent.
