NCAA 2014 FOUR Team Playoff Guide, Plus more Modding

Okay guys, I just found this out. You CANNOT have a user team in the playoffs if you do the regular setup. This is because the game ca't handle the user team playing twice in a week. But, I have been experimenting, and there is a way to have user teams in the playoffs. Do the following:
1. Backup the save file at the start of the bowl season.
2. Setup the semifinals in the usual way (1 vs 4 2 vs 3)
3. If your user controlled team wins, reload the backup save, fresh from when nothing in the bowl season has happened.
4. Put the two teams that lost into a regular BCS bowl game, and put the two teams that won the semifinals in the BCS Nati.
5. The game will not track the semifinals, but it will track what happens in the BCS National Championship.

It sounds bad but it is better than nothing.

I’ve played lots of seasons you can have user teams just fine

1) setup your matchups
2) put winners into nc game
3) put any teams not in bowls against the winners
4) play game
5) put the original matchups back

Question: So does the game track the bcs nati when you put the original matchups back? Oh and what do you mean by put any teams not in bowls against the winners?

you take teams that are not in bowl games and put them in place of the team that won the semi final game. it will keep track of stats for both games if you take both teams out of the title game before you play the bowls and just swap them in for the winners.

example: rose bowl: a vs b
sugar bowl: c vs d
bcs title: e vs f (non are bowl eligible)
winner a plays d for the championship put e in place of a and f in place of d
hope this makes sense to you.

Thanks so much! I was really happy to know that there is a real way to do this because I was literally about to delete my dynasty when I saw your post. Thanks, you and Skulletor are life savers.

Does anyone have a line on how to edit coach contracts and/or goals completed? I failed to meet the 8 game win expectation with my Miami Death Penalty Dynasty (shameless plug - https://forums.operationsports.com/f...y-dynasty.html) and I’m trying to either assign my coach back to Miami or edit the goals before end of season.

I’ve tried editing the W/L for the team and the coach, but still get fired. I tried swapping my coach with the one they hired at Coach Carousel, but that didn’t work right. Some screens showed my coach at Miami and others at ECU, but I couldn’t do anything with the Miami team. I’m sifting through the Coach Unknowns at the CC stage now to see if there’s anything I can parse, but I’m not seeing anything promising. Searching this thread and OS hasn’t yielded any results. Thanks!

UPDATE: in Coach Unknowns “CFRE” seems to be the “fired” column. The majority of the 1023 team (no team) coaches had a 1 in this column and all the coaches with contracts had a 0. I switched my coach’s to 0. Loaded the dynasty (at Carousel) and it offered me a contract! Great! Except, it says that Online Dynasty Servers are unavailable unexplainably. The search continues.

With recruiting house rules , how do you prevent scouting? I’m going to try one thing that I think might work.

Under Recruiting Pitch Response each team has a number up to 1000. There are 10 teams. All teams are available it’s just the top 10 interested teams. I’ll try setting all 10 teams to 0. I have a backup file saved previously if this doesn’t work.

I plan on starting a new dynasty in a little bit.

When performing the playoff mod in the editor, is there a set number of seasons you can play in the dynasty without an error occurring? I read in another post that there was a "duplicate key" glitch, if anyone can confirm how many seasons they have played in the same dynasty using the playoff mod, that would be great!
