I feel (I know) User Catch is broken. When I'm the WR and the ball is in the air, when I tap Y(triangle), he should be in the action to try to catch the ball. On certain occasions, depending where the ball is at, he won't even attempt to do that. I still feel there's a better chance, depending on the situation, in controlling the WR instead of the CPU. I guess all we could hope for regarding that is a a patch...

Unless it's a wide open receiver or a screen, I always user catch. I trust my ability to make a play on the ball much more than I trust the CPU

I have the same problem with the receiver just sitting there when I try it, unless the ball is in the air for a short time it seems like EA has still failed to bring one of the most exciting parts of the game to their game.

I never use it. The only time is when I'm playing defense and if it's the player I'm already controlling.. I don't switch over at the last moment. Nor do I ever use it on offense. Too me it feels way too cheap and bush league.

I seem to do it often as well

And as far as tapping y, try pressing and holding it, I think it works better. If you do the nike skills trainer it says to hold y in the tutorial and not just tap it. I think the game was designed to have the user hold it for catches. That's why you are having the issue of the player not going for the catch.

It doesn't completely eliminate the problem as I have also experienced it, but it does help

I only do user catches when I throw it and think the ball will be intercepted if I don't change my receivers course
