Re: Still playing a PS2 version?

Today I played my first bowl game with my created team and it actually went into overtime with the score tied 0-0. I ended up winning 6-0.

You wont ever see that in NCAA 14 or any next gen game for that matter, defensive battles are just so rare vs the CPU. Whereas I have found most of my games on NCAA 10 or 09 (PS2) have been like that.

Re: Still playing a PS2 version?

Other than receivers being a little too good at going up and catching passes over DBs, the PS2 games had a much better passing system than the PS3 games. More missed passes, better trajectories/speeds on passes, less "Robo-QB," etc

There is just so many things about the old PS2 versions that still continue to impress me.
Damn backwards compatibility. When I was cleaning out a bunch of old things I stumbled on to my PS2 NCAA 10 version and got so excited to pop it into my PS3 only to find out my PS3 doesn't have backwards compatibility. I was actually shocked that was a thing, I just automatically assumed it was going to work.

What all did the PS2 versions do right?

Re: Still playing a PS2 version?

Once the new game comes out I seem to totally forget all about the last version. It's fun to put in an old game and remember the highlights of versions in the past. I def. keep all my old versions of NCAA esp. now that the series is dead (for now...I hope).

Please bring back NCAA Football!!!!

Re: Still playing a PS2 version?

I'm going through and manually naming players on NCAA 06 ps2 for a dynasty. Created a school but not sure if I want to use it yet.

I still play 07, and a bit of 09 to get some draft classes for Madden 09 ps2. So much better quality than current gen.

Re: Still playing a PS2 version?

I keep trying to go back to my NCAA 06, but it's hard to get realistic football out of it. It is easy to complete deep passes, hard to complete short-medium passes, running the ball can be iffy, and I feel like there is a way to abuse every play (which in some situations can be too good to pass up)
