Custom Playbook Help.

I am looking to make a custom playbook, but it my first time really making one so it is a little overwhelming. I am looking to make a playbook that is spread option, but also involves air raid and run & shoot routes and plays. If anyone has any advice that would be very helpful.

Re: Custom Playbook Help.

My suggestion for any playbook is to pick a play that you really like. This is going to be one of your foundation plays. Go into practice mode and figure out how to run this play against different defenses, and find which defensive looks this play works well against and which looks give you trouble. Then go back to your playbook and find a play, or plays, that should work against the defenses that gave your foundation play trouble. These are your constraint plays and would ideally be accessible as an audible.

You can look at my spread playbook here as an example:
Power Spread

In each formation I either started with a handful of pass concepts and have a draw and a screen as my constraint plays, or I started with a read-option play and have a quick WR screen, an inside run for the HB, and 4-verticals as my constraints.

I went a step further and added similar concepts out of 10, 11, and 12 personnel groupings. Doing this allows me to make my offense look more complex to the defense while keeping it simple for me and gives me the ability to take advantage of any advantageous match-ups I have (a slot receiver against a #3 corner, a TE against a safety or LB, etc.).

Re: Custom Playbook Help.

When I make a new dynasty and want to make a custom playbook for that team, I'll just start from scratch by deleting all formations in the current playbook. Then, based on the teams strengths, I'll start adding formations. So if I have an option team I'll focus on Shotgun and Pistol formations first. Every time I add a formation, I go into it and delete the plays I don't want. Doing each formation one at a time ensures you don't run out of room right away. After I get the main formations in I'll branch off and add a few other ones, like Power I or Maryland, depending on the team.
